SMALL THINGS ART EXHIBITION

KLARITY in SMALL THINGS ART EXHIBITION on Waiheke Island….This is a very quaint island town, with friendly people living a simple life, lots of artists, and lots of vineyards and water activities…sailing, swimming, windsurfing, kayaking… Last night, we walked to the gallery in town and enjoyed a packed art gallery and walls adorned with small paintings and stands holding other small unusual weavings, pottery and such. Even 2 Stone Tapestry pieces by KLARITY! That was fun. My first art gallery opening in New Zealand…. The sky gave us a good wash on the way home as it was raining…pouring, and quite nice, as we were dressed for it so stayed warm and dry. Today, on a walk in the sunshine, we met a nice older couple walking in the road who wanted to ask us about the fire on our farm last night. It was a 3-alarm fire and the neighbors were curious. The fire was a rubbish pile, totally illegal to burn, so the farm owner got a bit a trouble and three fire trucks came out and put the fire out. Then the neighbors asked about me and my friends and the next thing you know they invited me to give my Earth Art & Architecture class at their kids creativity camp in Auckland in April. More soon…

CLARITY in NEW ZEALAND

GOOD MORNING! _____________________Saturday started with a welcome miracle, an invitation to teach EARTH ART to 19 deaf children, with an interpreter, at a school in Auckland! An all day clay workshop building peace on earth by hand. We’ll create an entire village, including homes, solar energy, water catchement, food forests and waste treatment! Back to harmony with nature……..Love it. Then via email I received other invitations to teach up north and down south too, so we’re working out the details. ________ Spreading the wealth and earning my way to Hawaii. Yeah.__________It’s $1,000 or so to get Mer there, so I got lots to earn. Wee.__________________________________________ THIS BLOG REFUSES TO LEAVE SPACE BETWEEN THE PARAGRAPHS______________hey, I can put in UNDERLINES______________________________________Ah Space, ____________________________ that’s better.______________________________________________________________________________ It is a sunny, warm and blue sky day here. Abundance & Beauty; Nature’s Gift to us

WAIHEKE ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND; Opportunities are all lining up and I am now enjoying being in KLARITY work mode, in paradise…. My offer has been accepted to give my EARTH ART WORKSHOPS for children & adults in a few places, including the local cinema, in Warkworth, and in Katikati, and I am equally thrilled to now have my STONE TAPESTRY jewelry on display at The Waiheke Art Gallery, and soon to be in their annual art exhibition called SMALL THINGS. Each day begins with a swim in the cozy bay after a series of balancing and empowering yoga-style exercises called the “5 Tibetans,” which I learned here. They have strengthened my body, and set my energy flowing smoothly and beautifully, which is much appreciated considering all I am enjoying doing. Shared healthy meals, cooking together, balanced with shopping, dish duty, laundry, and morning swims are all in the harmonious flow of really cool cooperation leading to deliciousness on every level. I love having my own sanctuary space under some shady trees, on a cliff above the bay, to do my work; writing, beading, and restful meditation, and then the joyful laughing and peaceful groove of fun friends to share support amongst the challenges, planning, action & successes. Waiheke island is full of caring folks, and my very local community of three close new friends, are all happy to support me in my KLARITY work and I am happy to have something to share that leads to really nice connections. I get to help them with their work as well, brainstorming & editing materials for their new eco-village brochures. Writing is flowing, beading is inspired, breathing is deep, and I feel like a global citizen meeting my brothers and sisters wherever I go. I know, the hippy in me is alive and well, among other things. It is a colorful world and I am grateful to be here. The lesson that is most clear today is the limitless options of what we create, and the illusion that fear offers; one of scarcity & ugliness. I’ve heard F.E.A.R. described as False Evidence Appearing Real…There is so much proof of fear’s manifestations where we disconnect from nature…we can create a living hell with such lack of vision and poor design. WIN/WIN is not enough anymore. I prefer WIN/WIN/WIN; for the earth and our earth family & the future. The ethics of permaculture sums it up well; Choosing to align ourselves around care of the earth, care of the people & sharing the surplus. I am loving my current research and the fruit of my determined treasure hunt. My intuition is affirmed daily: nature’s gift to us is abundance and beauty. I am aware and focused on what enhances good things crossing our path. I am satisfied with the delicious peaches, juicy red tomatoes, and clear rain water, the abundant solar hot water and heat and lighting, the composting toilets that flush, the food production as art, walking to the little town, carpooling to the store, going to the outdoor cinema under the stars, the earthbuilding that creates a home to nurture our Souls as well as our bodies, briefly helping build a rammed earth community house at Earthsong eco-neighborhood, doing the dishes, planting a cactus, sewing holes in my clothes by hand, the bonds of community that support our individual and collective needs and meeting people who are interested in living a natural life united with nature. It’s cool. These are just a few of the things that have proven to me the power of love, the intention of God in my life, and the opportunity we all have to contribute to peace on earth. I love my friends and family and thank all of you who so generously fill my life with a grace that inspires me to rise and shine each day renewed. There is no doubt we have serious work ahead, but we can appreciate the seriousness and have fun in the joy of knowing we are at least making a difference with every choice we make. All it takes is one smile. I’ll start. :)

Potpourri of Poetry

WAIHEKE ISLAND, New Zealand…..From swimming, floating in the emerald, clear bays that are all accessible and simply paradise, one after the other on Waiheke Island, NZ since Sunday, 2/27/05…to Auckland tonight, preparing for EcoShow, I have been blessed with company that warms the heart.

Swimming way out to the edge of the cove this morning, suddenly there was a breeze that picked up and made it hard to get back to shore, but my friend, Milan, and I kept laughing and moving ever back to land. We made it in no time.  Ok, so how funny, that as soon as we got to shore the wind stopped and the whole cove was peaceful and calm again. A LORD OF THE RINGS moment….Speaking of which, I may get to see many of the sets of LOTR, as it was all filmed right here.  I will be driving to Wellington, the southern tip of the North Island of NZ, 8 hrs from Auckland, over the next three weeks, selling Stone Tapestries to boutiques I find along the way, singing where I am invited, and sharing my Earth Art & Architecture Slideshow for donations, and making more jewelry naturally.

Then, plans are to take a friend’s offer to sail back on a catamaran.  Life is flowing at unprecedented speeds, sometimes with great haste, and sometimes gently,  but always with a sense of graceful ease as I transcend old limitations and fears I had, thanks to my own decisions and the incredible gems one meets when one loses sight of familiar shores. Everyone has been very supportive, helpful and full of something positive to share, whether they be mudbrick or strawbale builders, eco-village designers, a mudbrick Roman villa owner, German travelers who took me for a long days tour of the island, eco-village founders, a wood carving artist, cafe servers, or “Kiwis,” as the NZers are called.

CRYSTAL WATERS….Crystal Waters was incredible. I met and spent quality time with dear people, who gave me full detailed tours of their permaculture homes and village, and I loved every minute.  Tame kangaroos, gorgeous birds, BIG frogs all over my chalet walkway every night, picking abundant veggies and salads from the gardens….passionfruit too, Kali!!
…fresh baked breads from their bakery, cooking pumpkin soup with coconut milk, Saturday morning markets, lots of cuppa’s (tea), and long walks in the hot sun, floats on the dams; a treat, and great conversations for lifelong inspirations….Made close friends and reconnected with Morag Raymond and Evan Gamble, permie designers who taught us an eco-village workshop in SB in 2003. I gave an Earth Art & Architecture slideshow and talk and made some donations and sold 2 bracelets, so progress is gaining momentum for sure…

May the wind be at your back, but if it’s not, I can highly recommend to keep it light and keep laughing.  You’ll make it.  I trust I will too.  To return, as the winds choose, and I know which way is best to sail to realize my dreams both simple and passionate.

I hope you feel the love, cuz I am sending it all the way to you, sweet friends and family.
The Roadmap is ever more clear.  It definitely is growing more evident in my own path and I look forward to hearing about yours!!  Claire@Klarity.org is a great place to connect. Xoxoxoxox.  Mer is having a great time and will be joining me for a new job in Hawaii by May 2005. I will be assisting and building an eco-village there, including permaculture design. Life is good and totally what I’ve made it with so much love and support. Thank you.
SPECIAL THANKS TO HOPE for the flight voucher that got me here for only $300!
That is a true friend.
